Aliyev tells Erdoğan ties have reached alliance level
Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev sent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan a congratulatory letter for Republic Day, wishing brotherly Türkiye peace and prosperity.

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev sent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan a congratulatory letter marking October 29, Republic Day.
“Dear brother, I wholeheartedly congratulate you and the entire people of Türkiye on Republic Day,” the letter reads.
Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan and Türkiye are united by genuine bonds of friendship and brotherhood, and that the Shusha Declaration had elevated relations between the two countries to the level of an alliance. He wished brotherly Türkiye peace and prosperity.
The Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations was signed by the leaders of the two countries in Shusha in 2021.
