The Coordination Council of Russian Compatriot Organizations (KSORS) in Türkiye held its country conference in Ankara on September 26. Russia’s chargé d’affaires in Türkiye, Viktoria Stegniy, attended the event, the Russian Embassy in Ankara said.

Held under the theme “The Russian community in Türkiye: development priorities and new mechanisms of interaction,” the conference reviewed the work done so far and discussed uniting the Russian community, preserving the Russian language and culture, and supporting youth and humanitarian initiatives, as well as outlining future joint activities.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening compatriots’ ties with their historical homeland and expanding cooperation among Russian civil society organizations in Türkiye. The conference concluded with the adoption of a KSORS declaration.

KSORS serves as the executive body representing Russian compatriots living in Türkiye. Its current composition, set at the 2024 country conference, includes 23 compatriot organizations.
