Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said after the Cabinet Meeting held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on September 7 that they would not allow hostile attempts to prevent Türkiye from advancing as an independent and prosperous state.
Erdoğan said Türkiye would not be content with merely monitoring steps aimed at encircling the country in its surrounding region. He said Türkiye was not against any state, society, faith or culture, adding that the country wanted to continue on its path as an independent and prosperous state in a difficult region.
The President of Türkiye said they would continue working to strengthen regional unity and solidarity. He said those disturbed by Türkiye's growing strength and efforts to establish peace and stability in the region would not be able to divert the country from its goals.
Accusations over the war in the Middle East
Addressing the conflicts in the Middle East, Erdoğan held Israel responsible for the war in the region and its broader consequences. He argued that the cost of the war was being paid not only by the Iranian people and the Gulf countries, but by everyone involved or uninvolved in the conflict.
Erdoğan also accused Israel of violating the framework ceasefire agreement reached in June. He said the crises in the region would not end as long as the mindset that views the possibility of peace as a threat remained unchanged.
Search operations off Northern Cyprus
Erdoğan also addressed the search operations launched last week after a vessel capsized off the coast of Kyrenia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The President of Türkiye announced that Türkiye was supporting the operations, which were being carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, with nine ships and 11 aircraft.
Relations with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation
Recalling the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit held in Kyrgyzstan, which he attended as an honorary guest last week, Erdoğan said Türkiye would continue to develop its relations with the organisation. Erdoğan said they viewed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation as a structure complementary to the United Nations.
Growth target to be maintained in the economy
Erdoğan said Türkiye would not abandon its economic policy despite regional tensions. He said some adjustments could be made to the targets, adding that the economy's course of development and growth would be maintained.
The President of Türkiye said steps would be taken to raise public welfare and provide long-term solutions to the structural problems of the economy. He said the necessary work would continue to make the Turkish economy stronger, more competitive and more resilient in all areas.
