The Russian Prosecutor's Office closed an unauthorized children's camp in Ugdan village, Zabaykalsky region. According to a statement from the prosecutor's press service, the closure decision was made following numerous parental complaints.
In June, complaints about the "Kedy" children's camp in the city of Chita began circulating on social media. According to the allegations, children were placed in an ordinary village house without a dining hall and were forced to eat at a neighboring cafe.
Following media reports, the prosecutor's office inspected the camp. The inspection found that the camp was operating on the site of the former "Alenka" cafe and that the organizers had not created safe housing, care, and supervision conditions for the children.
During the inspection, it was determined that 11 children were at the camp, the staff lacked the necessary qualifications, and the camp had no sanitary-epidemiological certificates. It was also noted that adequate nutrition was not provided to the children.
The prosecutor's office initiated administrative proceedings against the organizer of the unauthorized camp and also filed a court request to ban this individual and related entrepreneurs from providing children's recreation and health services without the necessary permits.
