The Russian Federation's High Commissioner for Human Rights, Yana Lantratova, intervened in the process of a Russian citizen left without documents in Azerbaijan returning to her country.
Lantratova stated that the Russian citizen, named Parvana, whose surname she did not disclose, was left without documents abroad. The woman applied to the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan to obtain the temporary travel document necessary for returning to her country.
However, according to the Ombudsman, a problem arose during the document preparation stage. Additional information about the previously issued foreign passport was needed for the procedures. Parvana, whose documents were lost, did not have this data.
Lantratova said in a statement on her channel on the "Max" platform that the woman asked them for help. She noted that they forwarded a request to the Russian Foreign Ministry, and the ministry asked the Russian Interior Ministry for the necessary information.
The Ombudsman announced that at the end of the process, an entry document to Russia was issued to Parvana and the woman returned home. Lantratova also thanked the Russian Foreign Ministry and consular services for their swift intervention.
