Applications for the second season of the “Top 100 Russian Managers: Regions” ranking, which covers managers working at regional companies in Russia, opened on October 19, 2026. The project aims to identify effective managers, promote successful management practices and strengthen business ties.
At the first stage, senior managers at commercial companies in the Nizhny Novgorod and Sverdlovsk regions can apply. The application period for company managers in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region will open on October 26.
Regional coverage expanded
Managers in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region have been invited to participate in the ranking for the first time this season. Managers from the Sverdlovsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions will be able to take part in the project for the second time.
The initiative is being carried out with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. It is also supported by the St. Petersburg Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade, the Leningrad Region Committee for Economic Development and Investment, the Sverdlovsk Region Ministry of Economy, Investment and Regional Development, and the Nizhny Novgorod Region Ministry of Economic Development and Investment.
Twenty-seven management areas to be assessed
The ranking’s assessment framework covers 27 management areas. The official classification includes 13 sectoral and 10 functional areas.
The functional areas include senior management, commercial direction, finance direction, human resources direction, marketing direction, public and corporate relations direction, legal affairs direction, business development direction, information technology direction and logistics direction.
Vyacheslav Yevseyev, executive director of the Managers Association, said that strong regions are built by strong managers. According to Yevseyev, managers’ professionalism, initiatives and decisions influence the development of the local business community and the economy.

Yevseyev said the ranking aims to recognize the contributions of successful managers, make their experience a benchmark for other managers and highlight the human resources potential of the regions.
Experts will assess their peers
The ranking’s methodology is based on the principle that “the best select the best.” In the expert vote, senior managers will assess the achievements of their peers in the relevant functional areas.
The selection will take into account a manager’s professional reputation, contribution to the company’s development and indicators related to the relevant functional areas. Each company may nominate no more than one candidate for each functional area.
A candidate must have worked for the relevant company in the position for which they are applying for at least six months, and their job description must correspond to the functional area entered in the application.
Results to be announced in April 2027
The selection process will consist of accepting applications, an online vote by experts and publication of the results. The results of the “Top 100 Russian Managers: Regions” ranking will be announced in April 2027, and the names of the award-winning managers will be published by media outlets.
The project was created on the basis of the 25 years of experience and methodology of the annual federal “Top 1000 Russian Managers” ranking, organized by the Managers Association since 2001. More than 19,000 managers have received awards in the federal project to date.
