Former Armenian Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan has applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) against his country. Tovmasyan's lawyer Aram Orbelyan announced this step in a statement to the factor.am website.
Hrayr Tovmasyan served as President of the Armenian Constitutional Court from 2018 to 2020. From 2020 to 2026, he was a member of the same court. However, he was removed from his post after his conviction became final.

Tovmasyan's conviction stems from abuse of office charges during his tenure as Justice Minister from 2010 to 2014. The former minister has repeatedly denied all charges, stating that the cases against him were politically motivated.
