The Moscow City Court ruled that the administrative penalties imposed on five individuals who participated in an unauthorized demonstration at the government building were lawful. The court stated that during the incident on July 9, the demonstrators failed to comply with police instructions and organized an unauthorized gathering.
According to a statement from the Telegram channel of Moscow's general jurisdiction courts, Aleksandr Zimbovskiy, Yelena Sidorenkova, Anjela Astsatryan, Vartuhi Karapetyan, and Galina Sedıh held an unauthorized rally at the Moscow government's reception office. The activists disrupted the office's work by chanting insulting slogans and disobeyed the police officers who arrived at the scene.
On July 10, the Tverskoy District Court found the defendants guilty under Article 19.3(1) (failure to obey a lawful police order) and Article 20.2(6.1) (participation in an unauthorized rally) of the Russian Federation Code of Administrative Offenses. For the first offense, four individuals received administrative detention of 10 to 12 days, while Galina Sedıh was fined 4,000 rubles. For the second offense, all five were fined 20,000 rubles each.
The Moscow City Court's press service told RIA Novosti that Sedıh did not appeal her sentence.
