Russian technology company Yandex said three of its supercomputers were unharmed in drone attacks on its data centers and are now being moved to new sites.
The Chervonenkis and Lyapunov supercomputers were located at a data center in Sasovo, Ryazan region, while Galushkin, one of Russia’s most powerful, was in Vladimir. The data center in Sasovo was attacked on October 8, the one in Kaluga on October 9, and the one in Vladimir on October 11. Operations at the Sasovo and Vladimir sites came to a complete halt, while part of the infrastructure in Kaluga was knocked out, causing disruptions to the company’s services.

The company said the supercomputers have been dismantled and are being installed at new sites, after which they will be reconnected to the services infrastructure. No timeline has been given for completion of the relocation. Yandex uses these systems for work in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
