The Gagarinsky Court in Moscow postponed to July 13 the hearing that was scheduled to consider the request to change the residence address of Valeriya Chekalina, known as blogger Lerchek.
A court official stated that the hearing was postponed because defendant Chekalina was unable to attend the court. Chekalina is receiving treatment at the Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology following a targeted therapy session.
The hearing was to address the change of address for Chekalina, who is under a ban from certain actions, for the home whose lease had expired.
The court will also consider the request to restart the money laundering case against Valeriya Chekalina involving over 250 million rubles.
Background of the money laundering case
According to the investigation, the couple Artem and Valeriya Chekalina and their former partner Roman Vishnyak are accused of transferring 251.5 million rubles obtained from sales in a fitness marathon network to the accounts of non-resident persons in the United Arab Emirates by issuing fake documents.
Roman Vishnyak, who cooperated with the investigation, received a 2.5-year prison sentence, while Artem Chekalin was sentenced to 7 years in prison. Valeriya Chekalina's case, however, was suspended until her recovery due to her health condition.
