Production and assembly of the LMS-192 Osvey aircraft, jointly developed by Russia and Belarus, are planned at the Sokol aircraft factory in Nizhny Novgorod.
Anton Alikhanov, Russia’s Minister of Industry and Trade, said the project is expected to be carried out at the factory.
Russia and Belarus to discuss the work
As the Osvey project advances through its second phase, Russian and Belarusian officials are expected to discuss work related to the aircraft’s implementation on August 25.
Designed for local and regional routes
The LMS-192 Osvey is described as a light, multipurpose, twin-engine aircraft designed for use on local and regional flights.
The aircraft’s design was first displayed at the Innoprom trade fair held in Belarus in September 2025.
Type certification targeted for 2029
The Federal Air Transport Agency said that the certification application for the Osvey, which is planned to be equipped with Russian-made VK-800 engines, was submitted to the agency and the Russian Aircraft Registry in November 2025.
The aircraft is planned to receive its type certificate in 2029.
