Special operation veterans planning to establish businesses in rural areas of Udmurtia will receive support of up to 5 million rubles. Olga Abramova, acting head of Udmurtia, announced that applications for the Agromotivator program will be accepted until September 18.
Support will fund agricultural investments
The grant can be used to build and renovate agricultural facilities, purchase livestock, and acquire equipment and agricultural machinery. Veterans participating in the program must own or lease land where they conduct or plan to conduct agricultural production.
The Farmer School program, which prepares veterans for working life, is also continuing in the region. Around 30 service members and their relatives have completed the training, while applications for the program's new term have opened.
Eighty people took part in a business accelerator program held twice in Udmurtia. The training covered the fundamentals of business management, and participants prepared their own business projects. The Udmurtia Development Agency provides veterans who start businesses with support on accounting and personnel records.
Grants of up to 20 million rubles for farm projects
Applications for a separate Udmurtia Agriculture Ministry program aimed at developing farms can be submitted until September 16. Under the program, support will range from 3 million to 20 million rubles, depending on the applicant's own contribution.
To qualify for the maximum grant of 20 million rubles, the project must be financed with at least 40 percent in the applicant's own funds. An additional 1 million rubles may be added to the grant if a livestock project is supported by an investment loan and includes the upkeep of at least 500 cattle or 2,500 sheep and goats.
In addition to existing farms, people planning to open businesses in rural areas will also be eligible to apply. The funds can be used to purchase land, build, repair and modernize facilities, connect infrastructure, and buy equipment. Equipment for fish-farming infrastructure will also be supported.
Production must increase for five years
A common requirement of the two grant programs is that recipients increase their agricultural production by at least 7 percent each year for five years. Around 400 million rubles will be allocated from federal and regional budgets in Udmurtia in 2026 to develop small-scale agricultural enterprises.
The Udmurtia administration has also approved interest-rate support for agricultural producers. Businesses that take out loans this year or next year will be able to recover part of the interest costs in 2027 for loans with terms of up to one year.
Officials said the programs aim to expand agricultural production and advance the national project focused on the technological development of food security.
