Poland is reportedly planning to send Ukraine a new batch of several missiles to be used with Patriot air defense systems. The shipment is reportedly scheduled for September 16.
Warsaw's earlier Patriot decisions
Krzysztof Bosak, deputy speaker of the Presidium of the Polish Sejm, said Warsaw had given Ukraine Patriot missiles it had purchased to build its own air defense system.
Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Bureau of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, said Poland had previously ceded its place in the queue to purchase Patriot missiles from the United States to Ukraine.
Moscow's opposition to arms deliveries
Russia argues that arms deliveries to Ukraine are obstructing efforts to find a solution and directly involving NATO countries in the conflict.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had said that any delivery containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia.
The Kremlin had also stated that Western arms deliveries to Ukraine did not contribute to negotiations and would have negative consequences.
