Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that the capital will create a Veterans’ Palace, a comprehensive rehabilitation center for participants in combat operations in Ukraine. It will be established through the reconstruction of a social and rehabilitation center for war veterans near Catherine Park in the Meshchansky District.
Sobyanin said the Veterans’ Palace will bring together medical, physical, social and creative rehabilitation. It will include diagnostic equipment, a gait-training school, therapeutic exercise and kinesiotherapy halls, a water and wellness complex, as well as rooms for yoga and martial arts. Art therapy workshops, libraries, and music and dance classes are also planned.

The center is designed for daytime stays and short-term rehabilitation visits, allowing veterans to undergo recovery without taking time away from work and family.
The Veterans’ Palace will occupy two buildings with a total area of 22,000 square meters. Work began in January and is planned to be completed by the end of 2027. The reconstruction of Catherine Park is also underway: a family center, sports grounds, a renovated waterfront, a boat station and an amphitheater are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
