Kyrgyzstan Cabinet Chairman and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliyev chaired a critical meeting on meeting the country's demand for fuel and lubricants.
According to a statement from the press service of the Kyrgyz government, monitoring of the fuel market remains a permanent item on the Cabinet's agenda. The work is carried out in close cooperation with all stakeholders, including representatives of relevant ministries and the business community.
At the meeting, relevant agencies presented the latest data on current petroleum product stocks and the latest situation in the market.
Impact of global geopolitical factors
The statement noted that "the stability of deliveries to the country continues to be affected by global geopolitical factors that put pressure on logistics chains and pricing."
Kasymaliyev listened to comprehensive reports on alternative fuel import sources. It was emphasized that efforts to diversify supply sources have begun to yield results, with concrete agreements reached on some new routes, thus keeping the situation under control.
Energy security and daily monitoring directive
The Cabinet Chairman once again drew attention to the strategic importance of the country's energy security and the need to avoid fuel shortages in the domestic market.
Following the meeting, Kasymaliyev issued a series of concrete instructions, including daily monitoring of fuel deliveries and submission of real-time reports.
Kyrgyzstan meets almost all of its fuel needs through imports from Russia. Russia had imposed restrictions on fuel exports due to attacks on oil refineries by Ukrainian drones and a supply gap in its domestic market.
