Kazakhstan celebrates Republic Day on October 25. The holiday marks the adoption, on October 25, 1990, of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR, which became the country’s first step toward independence.
Republic Day regained its status as the country’s principal national holiday in 2022 on the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated Kazakhstan, wishing “friendly and brotherly Kazakhstan” a happy Republic Day. The Organization of Turkic States also sent congratulations to the brotherly people and government of Kazakhstan, highlighting the country’s commitment to regional development.
A few days later, on October 30, the leaders of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States will gather in Ankara for the organization’s 13th summit.
