Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) thwarted a drone attack planned by Ukrainian intelligence on a strategic defense facility in the Moscow region.
In a statement, the FSB said that the attack planned by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) was prevented as a result of intelligence work. During the operation, it was discovered that 35 FPV drones were brought into the region disguised as Spanish ceramic tiles.
The drones were noted to be resistant to electronic warfare systems and equipped with foreign-made explosives. The person tasked with carrying out the attack assembled and activated the drones and established a communication channel with foreign operators.
The FSB released a confession video of the attacker. In the video, the suspect said he was offered a large sum of money in exchange for this act.
A special unit of the FSB destroyed all the drones after they were directed toward the target. The statement emphasized that the safety of the facility, civilians, and military personnel was ensured.
