Dagestan opens criminal probe into assault near school
A criminal investigation was launched after a young man was beaten on October 19 in the village of Germenchik, in Dagestan’s Babayurt district. In addition to the investigation into two youths, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the school principal and the deputy principal responsible for education.
A criminal investigation was launched after an incident in a park opposite the school in the village of Germenchik, in Dagestan’s Babayurt district. A verbal argument between youths on October 19 ended with one young man being beaten.
Investigative authorities said two youths had physically assaulted a minor, injuring the victim.
Investigation under Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code
The Kizlyar Interdistrict Investigative Department opened a case under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code on charges of disturbing public order and hooliganism.
The Dagestan Prosecutor’s Office had earlier said that the incident occurred during a fight between peers in the schoolyard of the school in Germenchik. According to the prosecutor’s office, the young man sustained injuries.
Disciplinary proceedings against school administrators
Following a meeting of the Babayurt District Commission on Juvenile Affairs, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the school principal and the deputy principal responsible for education.
