A soldier with the call sign "Genka", who said he serves in the 1st Battalion and 1st Company of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade, said there was no water or food in the positions.
Speaking in a video published on Telegram, the soldier said two other people were with him and that they had been unable to drink water for more than 24 hours. The soldier appealed for assistance to ensure that at least aid packages reached their unit, highlighting supply problems at the front.
The location of the unit at the time the video was recorded was not specified. Ukrainian lawmaker Artem Dmytruk, who facilitated the publication of the video, claimed that tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers at the front were without water and food.
Dmytruk accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, alleging that some soldiers had died of hunger under these conditions. This allegation was made separately from the personal account of the soldier speaking in the video.
