A sudden thunderstorm and heavy rain in the Leningrad region negatively affected railway traffic in the area. The Oktyabrskaya Railway (OJD) Administration, part of Russian Railways, announced that eight commuter trains heading towards Finland were delayed due to the weather conditions.
OJD stated on its Telegram channel that trains were stranded on the route due to bad weather conditions near Kirpichny Zavod station on July 12. The maximum delay was 30 minutes.
It was noted that railway workers took all necessary measures to restore normal services. This weather event in northwestern Russia caused a brief disruption on the railway line that provides international connections.
