Speaking at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin announced that the fuel situation in civil aviation is under control. Nikitin said, "The situation in civil aviation is under control; despite a drop in the usual level of fuel stocks, transport demand remains stable."
At the meeting on Wednesday, Putin discussed the functioning of the transport and fuel sectors with cabinet members.
This summer, Russia experienced disruptions in fuel supply due to logistical changes. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak had previously drawn attention to these interruptions.
The government took a series of measures to improve the situation, including banning gasoline and diesel exports, and providing tax incentives for fuel imports and production increases. Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) reported that airports have the necessary fuel volumes.
