Demand for vocational education institutions in Russia is showing a marked increase. Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov shared this trend with the public during a presentation at a cabinet meeting chaired by President Vladimir Putin.
Kravtsov highlighted the positive development in the sector, saying, "Young people are indeed going to colleges, interest is growing." According to the minister, an average of 2 applicants compete for each place in the secondary vocational education system.
Competition is even more intense at the leading colleges known as "Professionalitet," which are flagship institutions in the sector, where the number of applicants per place reaches 4-5.
