The International Industrial Fair Innoprom-2026 in Yekaterinburg was the scene of significant cooperation agreements for Chelyabinsk Region. Throughout the fair, the region signed over 40 agreements with investors, scientific and educational institutions.
Chelyabinsk Region Governor Aleksey Teksler announced that they held numerous meetings during the two-day fair program. Teksler said, "We signed over 40 agreements with investors and our science, education and industry partners. I believe these agreements will give new impetus to the development of industry in the region, attracting investments, and the growth of our priority zones, industrial parks and special economic zone."
The governor emphasized that Chelyabinsk Region maintains its leadership in the industrial policy effectiveness ranking announced by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. Teksler stated, "This is especially important under the current challenging conditions. We are able to maintain our position thanks to the development of new sectors and modern industrial areas."
Noting that Innoprom offers an opportunity to see new technologies and showcase their own developments, Teksler said, "Chelyabinsk Region truly has a lot to show: our stand this year was dedicated to the most advanced technological solutions we are developing in the region." He interpreted the visit of the Russian Prime Minister to the regional stands as an indication of the high level of developments in the South Urals.
Cooperation in Human Resources and Robotics
Within the framework of the fair, two more critical agreements were signed aimed at strengthening human resource potential and system integration of robotic solutions.
The first agreement was made between the Ministry of Education and Science of Chelyabinsk Region and the Chelyabinsk branch of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers. The agreement was signed by Regional Minister of Education and Science Vitaliy Litke and Head of the Chelyabinsk branch of the Union and General Director of the Ural Automobile Plant Pavel Yakovlev.
Minister Litke stated that industry is a strategic partner of the education system and that the importance of this interaction is understood by all parties. Litke said, "Our cooperation is comprehensive: it extends from personnel training to teacher support and the improvement of educational programs. Our common goal is the sustainable development of the region."
The second agreement was signed between the Ural Automobile Plant and Robotics Institution JSC for robotics integration. The agreement was signed by Yakovlev and General Director of the Robotics Institution Aleksandr Alekseyev.
Yakovlev said that this agreement is a logical continuation of the digital transformation strategy adopted in 2019. "It is critically important for us to go beyond simply increasing the number of robots in production – we have already exceeded 200 units – and move to a new level of system integration. Cooperation with the Robotics Institution serves our goals of accelerating the robotization of technological processes and developing unmanned solutions based on the Ural chassis," he stated.
Governor Teksler emphasized that Chelyabinsk Region will continue its efforts to strengthen its industrial potential, develop new technologies and expand cooperation between enterprises and universities.
