Russia’s under-15 team defeated Türkiye 4-1 in the fifth-round match of the preliminary stage at the FIFA World Championship and Festival for players under 15, which is being held in Azerbaijan. The match took place in Govsan.
Matvey Rodionov (8th minute), Ilya Khrabry (14th), Matvey Abdulkhaliqov (32nd) and Anatoly Tsimin (35th) scored for Russia.

Denis Pervushin’s team won all five of its preliminary-stage matches, having previously defeated Sudan 12-0, Sierra Leone 7-0, Djibouti 13-0 and Afghanistan 8-0.
In the second stage, the teams will compete in a playoff format: the losing teams will not leave the tournament but will continue playing against other losing teams. The matches are played eight-a-side, with two 20-minute halves, and the tournament will conclude on October 31. It is the first official tournament under FIFA auspices since 2022 in which Russia’s national team is competing with its national flag and anthem.
