Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran agreed on October 26 to continue talks aimed at strengthening cooperation on regional issues, including peace and security. The agreement was announced in a joint statement issued after a four-way meeting in Tehran.
The participants discussed regional security, Israel’s actions in the region, and the latest developments in Palestine and Lebanon.

The meeting was chaired by Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Türkiye was represented by Ibrahim Kalin, head of the National Intelligence Organization; Saudi Arabia by Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman; and Pakistan by Field Marshal Asim Munir. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also attended the meeting.
The meeting marked the first high-level contact between Iran and the three participants in the Makkah Agreement on joint defense since Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen stepped up attacks on Saudi Arabia. The agreement, signed by Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in August, stipulates that an attack on one party is considered an attack on all.
