Russian President Vladimir Putin extended the program allowing Chinese citizens visa-free entry to Russia. With the decree signed by Putin, this regime will be valid until December 31, 2027.
The program was previously set to expire on September 14 and was launched with a one-year trial period. This extension came after China extended the visa-free regime for Russian passport holders in May.
The mutual visa exemption allows entries of up to 30 days for tourism or work purposes. Additionally, Russian and Chinese group tours can travel visa-free. China, for its part, allows Russian transit passengers to stay visa-free for up to 10 days.
Relations between Russia and China deepened after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Putin has visited China every year since 2022, when he faced diplomatic isolation by Western powers.
