Water services were suspended in Novorossiysk, in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, after the city’s main cold-water pipelines were damaged in an alleged drone attack. ATEK said in a statement on Wednesday, August 12, that cold-water supplies had been completely cut off across the city.
The company said the lack of cold water prevented heating equipment from operating steadily and safely. Hot-water services were therefore also temporarily suspended throughout Novorossiysk.
ATEK teams are monitoring the situation. The company said repairs to hot-water services would begin as soon as technically possible after cold-water supplies were restored. It added that the necessary measures were being taken to resume hot-water supplies to homes as soon as possible.
ATEK’s statement also referred to earlier alleged drone attacks targeting water stations and water-supply infrastructure in Crimea. It also mentioned alleged attempts targeting the Kumak water intake facility in Orsk, in the Orenburg region, and alleged attacks affecting the water infrastructure of Tuapse in Krasnodar Krai.
