FSB arrests Russian in Moscow for treason over crypto sent to Ukrainian intelligence
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said it detained a Russian citizen in the Moscow region for treason after he sent cryptocurrency to a wallet used by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) for intelligence and sabotage activities. A court ordered his arrest.
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a Russian citizen in the Moscow region on treason charges. The FSB said the suspect, born in 1991, transferred money to a cryptocurrency wallet used by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) for intelligence and sabotage activities.
The FSB statement said, 'In the Moscow region, the illegal activities of a Russian citizen born in 1991 involved in treason were prevented,' and confirmed that the suspect had carried out these actions.
The suspect was charged with treason and the court ordered his arrest.
