Lavrov arrives in New York for the 81st UN General Assembly
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in New York on Tuesday night for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Lavrov is scheduled to deliver an address to the UN, meet with Marco Rubio and attend numerous international meetings.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in New York on Tuesday night to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Russia’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations announced Lavrov’s arrival in the city.
Lavrov is scheduled to address the General Assembly on Saturday.
Meeting with Rubio on the agenda
Lavrov is also scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The U.S. Department of State said the meeting is expected to take place on Wednesday at 09:00 local time, or 13:00 Türkiye time.
Kirill Logvinov, the Russian Foreign Ministry official responsible for international organizations, said 20 international meetings had been planned for Lavrov at the UN.
Lavrov is also expected to hold more than 30 bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly sessions.
