Russian Federation Council Chair Valentina Matviyenko made a harsh statement about Ukraine. Matviyenko asserted that, with the support of Western countries, the Kyiv regime has turned into a total and comprehensive 'ordinary fascism'.
Allegation of Western Ideological Support
In a message published on the Council's website blog, Matviyenko argued that Western support for the 'neo-Nazi regime' in Kyiv is not only political but also has an ideological foundation. According to her, this regime is increasingly evolving into 'ordinary fascism', a situation she described as terrible and criminal.
Historical Context and Warning
Referring to June 22 being marked in Russia as the 'Day of Remembrance and Sorrow', commemorating the start of the Great Patriotic War and millions of losses, Matviyenko emphasized that the victory of the Soviet people over Nazism saved not only themselves but the entire world.
Matviyenko said, 'Such a threat truly emerged after the state coup in Ukraine and its anti-Russia policies.' She claimed that in recent years, under Europe's patronage, racism in the form of Russophobia has spread aggressively and openly in Ukraine.
Stating that the shadow of Nazism cannot be allowed to cover the world again, Matviyenko expressed that remaining faithful to historical truth and preserving the memory of the defenders of the homeland is a sacred duty.
