According to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth, Israel's national airline El Al has temporarily suspended flights on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route.
The company stated that it will evaluate the latest developments between Russia and Ukraine and, based on that evaluation, will decide to resume Moscow flights.
El Al confirmed that passengers have been informed and that alternative options will be offered to them.
The newspaper reported that the decision to suspend Moscow flights came after a series of attacks by Ukraine using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Russian territory, particularly Moscow.
It was stated that last week Kyiv bombed a petrol station in Moscow, causing major damage.
It is stated that the main reason for the decision is the risk posed to civilian flights by Ukraine's repeated attacks and the air defense systems Russia may use in response.
Russian authorities announced that over 200 Ukrainian UAVs were shot down last week in various regions of the country, including the capital.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in a statement on June 18 that they have carried out attacks on targets in Moscow using long-range weapons, describing it as a 'fair response' to Russia's bombing of Ukrainian cities.
As Russia's military operation launched on February 24, 2022 continues, Moscow demands that Ukraine abandon joining Western military alliances for the operation to end. Kyiv, however, considers this interference in its internal affairs.
