Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov answered questions about a possible phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Delsi Rodriguez, the authorized representative of the President of Venezuela, following the powerful earthquakes in Venezuela.
In a statement to journalists, Peskov said, "No, there is no such plan at the moment," clearly stating that a meeting between the two leaders is not on the agenda.
Post-Earthquake Situation in Venezuela
Delsi Rodriguez previously stated that after a series of strong earthquakes that hit the country, destruction occurred in buildings, including homes, in the capital Caracas as well as in the states of Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua, Carabobo and Falcon.
Venezuelan authorities declared a state of emergency after the earthquakes and began search and rescue operations. A RIA Novosti correspondent reported that there were destructions and casualties in Caracas.
