Drone attack on Turkish-flagged ship in Black Sea seriously injures three crew
The RO-RO ship Nadezhda, en route from Novorossiysk to Samsun, was hit by a drone attack off the Russian port. Three crew members were seriously injured, and all 22 on board were evacuated to Russia.
The security crisis in the Black Sea deepened with a new incident. Turkish maritime officials announced that the Turkish-flagged RO-RO cargo ship 'Nadezhda', en route from Russia's Novorossiysk port to Samsun, came under a drone attack approximately 20 nautical miles off the port.
Three of the 22 crew members on board were seriously injured in the attack. The statement said that all crew members, including the injured, were evacuated to Russia.
A fire that broke out in the bow section continues despite firefighting efforts, while no statement has yet been made about who carried out the attack.
