In a statement on the night of August 21, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces targeted the oil refinery in Russia’s city of Perm and the Marinovka military airfield in the Volgograd region.
In a post on his Telegram account, the Ukrainian president said the refinery in Perm is located more than 1,600 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Zelenskyy also said strikes had been recorded in the Black Sea.
Consequences of earlier strikes
Assessing the consequences of earlier strikes, Zelenskyy said a Russian Su-34 aircraft was damaged at the airfield in Akhtubinsk, about 600 kilometers from the front line.
Zelenskyy said a drone facility in Russia’s city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, located about 180 kilometers from the front line, was also targeted. He said attack drones were stored, prepared and launched at the facility, and claimed that they were used in attacks against Ukraine.
