Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new series of attacks on Russia. In a post on X, Zelensky stated that Ukrainian forces continue to target facilities and ships supporting the Russian military.
Zelensky announced that Ukrainian security services struck three oil refineries in the Republic of Bashkortostan, part of the Russian Federation. He said these facilities, located about 1,600 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, were targeted.
Container ship targeted in the Black Sea
The Ukrainian president also announced that the Russian-flagged container ship 'Yaninaya,' sailing in the Black Sea, was hit as part of the attacks. Zelensky claimed that the sanctioned vessel, with a cargo capacity of over 100,000 tons, sank as a result of a precise strike by Ukrainian defense forces.
Zelensky also noted that Ukrainian forces carried out attacks on targets in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
Russia has been conducting a military offensive against Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Moscow demands that Kyiv abandon its attempts to join Western military alliances as a condition for ending the attacks, while Ukraine considers this interference in its internal affairs.
