Russian Railways (RZD) tested a robot conductor to advance automation in its high-speed train services. The company announced on its social media account that the robot, named "Volodya", was tested on a Sapsan train operating between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Wearing a red RZD vest, the robot greeted passengers as they boarded service number 768. Described as an "iron assistant," Volodya checked passengers' documents and tickets and helped them find their seats.
A photo shared by RZD shows the robot interacting with passengers. The test is part of efforts to integrate technology into Russia's transport infrastructure.
