WSJ: Washington announced Venezuela oil deal amid Iran conflict, ahead of elections
The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. administration announced a deal with Venezuela covering more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves ahead of the Iran conflict and upcoming congressional elections. The deal carries political significance for Washington because of tightening global energy supplies and the effects of the conflict in the Middle East.
