Tatyana Kim, CEO of Russia-based e-commerce platform Wildberries, shared the economic impact of Ukraine's attacks on the company's logistics infrastructure with the public. Kim stated that these attacks have severely hit not only businesses in Russia but also many foreign entrepreneurs trading on the platform.
The CEO strongly denied the claim that the company sells military-purpose products, used to justify the attacks. Stressing that Wildberries offers a general product range like Amazon or Alibaba, Kim said, "Tens of thousands of people from different countries trade in the Wildberries ecosystem. Attacks on Wildberries' infrastructure are attacks on innocent civilians."
Kim announced that as a result of these attacks, entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and China have suffered billions of rubles in losses.
Infrastructure strengthened, attacks thwarted
Wildberries management reported that they have equipped logistics centers with all necessary protection tools and modernize their systems daily. Tatyana Kim said, "Our successful thwarting of the majority of the attacks is direct proof of this."
Financial support and facilities provided to sellers
Kim conveyed that affected sellers received a two-stage support payment, and major partners were granted additional discounts and deferrals on loan payments. Stating that the logistics network is being reorganized as quickly as possible, the CEO said, "We are distributing our partners' products across different logistics facilities to maintain delivery speed and product circulation."
Comprehensive aid package discussed with Russian government
Tatyana Kim announced that they are discussing comprehensive support measures for entrepreneurs affected by the attacks together with the Russian government. The aid package being prepared is expected to be announced in the coming days.
In recent times, Ukraine has continued to launch intense attacks on various logistics centers of Wildberries.
