In St. Petersburg, water patrol teams from the external transport agency successfully rescued a dog stranded in the Neva River. The teams, patrolling the area of the Sverdlovsk Embankment, noticed the dog struggling in the water.
According to the agency's statement, the dog named Leya escaped from Ladoga Train Station on Thursday. It is unknown how the animal fell into the river, but it was about to become exhausted while fighting against the current.
The crew on the patrol boat lifted the weakened dog out of the water and brought it to shore. The agency said Leya had been in the river for over an hour.
