Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov stated that Moscow continues to maintain both open and secret contacts with the Kiev administration.
Ushakov made this assessment in an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin.
He recalled that open communication was also maintained during previous rounds of talks.
The statement came in response to questions about an unnamed Russian businessman planning to travel to Kiev to bring back necessary information to Moscow.
Ushakov's remarks highlighted that communication between Moscow and Kiev has not completely broken down, but rather continues through different channels.
