The United States and Uzbekistan announced 54 agreements and investment initiatives worth around $12 billion during US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Samarkand. The package was presented on October 19 at a meeting of the American-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council, attended by a delegation representing around 300 US companies.
The projects cover aviation, railways, energy, mineral extraction, artificial intelligence, satellite technology, healthcare, agriculture and finance. GE Aerospace will supply engines for Uzbekistan Airways, while Wabtec will provide locomotives and modernize railway equipment.

BlackRock, Citigroup and Franklin Templeton are participating in project financing. ReElement Technologies, Traxys and Trafigura are involved in the extraction and processing of critical minerals, while Amazon Leo will provide satellite internet.
Uzbek media outlets noted that the $12 billion figure includes prospective initiatives as well as investments that have already been made. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said bilateral trade had increased by 35% since the beginning of 2026.
