Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law approving the Free Trade Agreement with Türkiye on Friday, July 31. This step completed the agreement's domestic legal process on the Ukrainian side.
The text of the law was published on the official website of the Ukrainian Parliament. Thus, the bill ratifying the agreement entered into force.
The signed agreement aims to enhance bilateral commercial cooperation between Ukraine and Türkiye and expand market opportunities for producers in both countries. Under the agreement, the mutual elimination of customs duties on a range of products is envisaged.
The Grand National Assembly of Türkiye had approved this agreement in early August 2024. The Ukrainian Parliament, on the other hand, issued its ratification decision on July 14, 2026.
The Free Trade Agreement will enter into force after both countries complete their domestic ratification procedures and exchange the instruments of ratification.
