Ukraine called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, citing Russia's attacks on civilian maritime traffic in the Black Sea. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, in a statement on his Telegram account, alleged that Russia has been carrying out attacks on freedom of navigation in the Black Sea.
Sibiga argued that Russia is holding global food security hostage.

The minister claimed that in recent days Russia has attacked at least three civilian cargo ships, killing or wounding dozens of crew members.
Ukraine has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on July 27 in response to Russia's attacks on freedom of navigation in the Black Sea.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister noted that today no ships passed through Ukraine's Black Sea maritime corridor in the middle of the harvest season, describing it as a deliberate act of economic and humanitarian terror.
If this terror continues, millions of families in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America could face rising food prices and hunger.
Sibiga alleged that Russia's target is the global food markets in the Black Sea. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister reiterated his formal request for the UN Security Council to convene urgently on July 27.
