Ukrainian parliament member Aleksey Goncharenko called for Kyiv to reach a peace agreement with Russia, citing Ukraine’s situation in the conflict.
Goncharenko said that reaching an agreement with Russia on peace was the best decision for Ukraine under the current conditions.

Moscow declares it is ready for negotiations
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the plenary session of the 23rd annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, one day before Goncharenko’s statement. Putin said they had seen no willingness on the Ukrainian side to hold negotiations.

Putin also said that Moscow was ready to begin negotiations aimed at reaching a settlement and to complete the process as soon as possible. The Russian president said this would have to take place on terms acceptable to the Russian people.
