Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia wanted comprehensive agreements with Ukraine instead of piecemeal arrangements, adding that the goal was lasting peace rather than a ceasefire.
Speaking to journalists on Oct. 2, Peskov said Ukraine was not showing a willingness to pursue comprehensive agreements. The Kremlin spokesman said such piecemeal agreements would not bring the sides closer to a peaceful solution and noted that Russia remained open to negotiations.

No concrete details on the Black Sea initiative
Referring to the initiative by Türkiye and the United Nations to discuss a ceasefire in the Black Sea between Russia and Ukraine, Peskov said there were no concrete details on the matter yet.
Peskov’s remarks on the Black Sea and the war
Peskov said the war, which Russia describes as a “special military operation,” was continuing. He argued that completely halting the shipment of military equipment, ammunition and fuel to Ukraine through the Black Sea was important for Moscow.

Assessing the situation in the Black Sea, Peskov said Russia was responding to attacks that it claimed Ukraine had launched. Peskov argued that Ukraine had paid and would continue to pay the price for this.
