Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a new recruitment process for candidates seeking careers in the diplomatic service.
Under the ministry's official announcement for the 2026 entrance examination for candidates seeking consular and specialized officer positions (KİM), up to 80 people will be recruited across various categories.
One of the main features of the recruitment process is that applicants are not required to submit a KPSS score, the Public Personnel Selection Examination in Türkiye.
However, the absence of a KPSS requirement does not mean that applicants will be hired without examinations. Candidates must meet the specified education and foreign-language requirements and successfully complete the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' competitive selection process.
Applications accepted until September 17
Applications opened on August 18 and will close at 12:00 p.m. on September 17, 2026.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the e-Devlet government system and the Career Gate (Kariyer Kapısı) platform, under the Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs recruitment section.
Applications submitted through methods not specified in the official announcement will not be accepted.
Who can apply?
Candidates must be citizens of the Republic of Türkiye and must be under 35 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Accordingly, people born on or after January 1, 1991, meet the age requirement.
Education and foreign-language requirements vary according to the selected category.
The announcement includes categories for a wide range of foreign languages, including English, German, Arabic, French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Persian and Hebrew.
Candidates must demonstrate the required level of foreign-language proficiency for their selected category.
Written examination to be held in Ankara on October 3
The written part of the entrance examination will be held in Ankara on October 3, 2026.
The examination will assess candidates' knowledge and skills through written assignments in Turkish and a foreign language, as well as translation from Turkish into the relevant foreign language.
Candidates who successfully complete the written stage will advance to the subsequent selection stages. These include a personality questionnaire, analytical ability and logical reasoning tests, followed by an oral interview.
Successful candidates can pursue diplomatic careers
Consular and specialized officers belong to the category of diplomatic career officials in Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They may work both at the ministry's headquarters and at Türkiye's diplomatic missions abroad.
Their duties may include consular and protocol matters, economic and cultural relations, public diplomacy, administrative and financial activities, e-consular services, information technologies and other specialized areas.
Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs defines consular and specialized officers as diplomatic career officials who also perform representative functions on behalf of the country.
Candidates planning to take part in the competition are advised to carefully review the education, foreign-language and category-specific requirements before applying.
