Türkiye's Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş met Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Chair of the Committee on Family and Women Dilnoza Kattakhanova in Samarkand.
The two sides discussed efforts to strengthen families, support women's participation in economic life and combat all forms of violence against women. Göktaş said the two countries would continue strengthening their strategic partnership through long-term cooperation and deepening mutual dialogue.

In Samarkand, the minister also addressed the World Summit “Investing in Child Well-being: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations.” She said the priority should be to create a strong social protection system that guarantees every child's rights, takes their needs into account and helps them realize their potential.
Göktaş said social protection systems should not be limited to financial assistance and called for social support, education, healthcare and social services to be brought together in a single system.
