Emine Erdoğan, wife of Türkiye's president, attended the opening of the fifth branch of the IMKON Rehabilitation Center and Multipurpose Special Preschool in Samarkand on Oct. 21. The ceremony followed the World Summit on Investing in Children's Well-Being, Türkiye's Directorate of Communications said.

Erdoğan cut the ribbon with Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, wife of Uzbekistan's president; Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, first deputy director of Uzbekistan's National Social Protection Agency; the spouses of the leaders of Lebanon, Zimbabwe and Kyrgyzstan; and other guests.
Support for children with special needs

The center's rehabilitation unit serves more than 100 children aged 2 to 18, with rooms for fairy tale therapy, fine motor skills, social adaptation, art therapy, physiotherapy, sensory integration and paraffin therapy. Its preschool unit has capacity for 150 children aged 2 to 7.
"Here, every child's development is supported according to their own needs," Erdoğan wrote, congratulating everyone who contributed to the initiative, which she said gives hope to the children of brotherly Uzbekistan and strength to their parents.
