Sverdlovsk Court Upholds 5-Year Prison Sentence for Former URA.RU Editor Allayarov
The Sverdlovsk Regional Court did not change the 5-year prison sentence of Denis Allayarov, the former editor of the URA.RU news site, who was tried for bribery.
The Sverdlovsk Regional Court reviewed the appeal of Denis Allayarov, the former editor of the URA.RU news site, who was tried on charges of bribery. The court upheld the 5-year prison sentence handed down by the lower court.
At the hearing, the objections of Allayarov, his lawyer, and the regional prosecutor's office were considered. The judge ruled that the conviction would not be changed after the review.
When announcing the decision, the judge said, 'The conviction of Denis Aleksandrovich Allayarov has been left unchanged.' The court stated that only a correction would be made to the part of the lower court's decision concerning the fine.
