The Russian government has reshuffled the commission responsible for children's affairs and the protection of their rights. According to a decree published on the official website for legal regulations, Russian Human Rights Ombudsman Yana Lantratova has been appointed as a commission member.
The decree made Lantratova's appointment under the title "Human Rights Ombudsman of the Russian Federation" with the note "by agreement."
Senior appointments to the commission
Other new members of the commission were also determined by the same regulation. Russian Interior Ministry First Deputy Andrey Kurnosenko, Russian Foreign Ministry Deputy Dmitriy Lyubinskiy, and Rosfinmonitoring Deputy Director German Neglyad were among the other individuals included in the commission.
The decree also updated the official title of current member Aleksandr Spivak. Spivak was recorded as chairman of the council of the "National Fund for the Protection of Children from Abuse."
Members removed from the commission
The government decision also removed some individuals from commission membership. Former Deputy Foreign Minister and Russian Ambassador to Turkey Sergey Vershinin, former Interior Ministry First Deputy Aleksandr Gorovoy, and former Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova were removed from the commission.
